Q: How will my guests know where to go?

Stono Ferry neighborhood allows signage to be posted at street corners along the path to the site. You are responsible for clean-up of these signs the day after the event is over.

Q: Does the Club offer transportation to the ceremony site or reception?

Yes. For $50 per cart, we offer shuttle service via golf cart from the parking area to the site for the duration of the ceremony. Our carts hold up to four passengers at one time. Alternate forms of transportation include (outside) rental of a horse and carriage or multi-passenger golf carts.

Q: How long can the reception last?

All guests and members of the party are required to be off the site (with all décor) by 12:00 am.

Q: Are there any musical restrictions?

Due to neighborhood noise restrictions, any outdoor event must be finished by 10:00 pm.

Q: Is it possible to hold a ceremony or reception before 6:00 pm?

Yes, however, this will depend on site availability. If a wedding on the course wants to take place before 6:00 pm, a fee would be added to stop the play of golf.

Q: Do you provide chairs at the ceremony site?

Ceremony chairs should be rented from an outside vendor.  You can have them deliver the chairs to the site the evening prior or morning of the event.  Please make arrangements for rental company to pick up your ceremony chairs the morning after the event when it is daylight.  This must be done before 9:00 am.

Q: Can I have a specialty drink at the reception?

Yes, however, our bartenders must prepare the beverage during or prior to the event. The beverage must contain ingredients included on the bar package of choice or any inferior packages. No outdoor liquor is permitted on site.

Q: What happens if it rains?

The Clubhouse can always be used as a back-up venue for all occasions. We also allow tents to be posted on the driving range.

Q: How do I book my event with The Plantation at Stono Ferry?

In order to reserve your first date of choice, please speak with the Event Coordinator at Stono Ferry as soon as possible. Once a deposit is received, your date will be booked.

Q: Who will be present at the venue the day of my wedding?

A Venue Coordinator will be present the day of the wedding. Often times the duties of the Venue Coordinators are confused with the Wedding Coordinator on the day of the event. The Venue Coordinator’s responsibilities pertain to your experience at the venue: showcasing the venue, consulting your food and beverage choices, carrying out your setup needs, and formalizing your final invoice. On wedding day, their focus is delivering their contracted services: ensuring the venue set up is accurately (tables and chairs), the food (if in-house) and beverages are served appropriately, and that tear down happens seamlessly.

Q: Do you allow outside wedding planners?

Yes, wedding planners are encouraged but not required.  A “Day of Wedding” Coordinator is available on site for $500.

Q: What is the timing for a ceremony rehearsal?

If the ceremony is held at The Crossing, it must be done by 5:00pm the day prior to the event as to not interrupt golf play.  If the ceremony is held at The Retreat or Clubhouse, there are limited rehearsal time restrictions.

Q: Are dogs permitted on the grounds?

Pets are welcome outdoors at The Crossing and The Retreat but not allowed in the Clubhouse.

Q: Is there adequate space for parking?

We have a parking lot available for guests at the Clubhouse. Parking for events held The Crossing is along the street with the option of shuttle service. Parking for The Retreat would use the Clubhouse parking lot with the option of shuttle service.

Q: How many weddings do you allow on site in one day?

There is only one wedding rental allowed on site each day. This includes all three rental locations. If there is inclement weather the day of the event, the Clubhouse will always be available for a covered alternative.

Q: Are outside caterers allowed?

Yes, the caterer must be a licensed professional.  Your Event Coordinator can provide a list to choose from if needed.
